Why Mine Clearing?
Three major wars and internal struggle over the past forty years left large parts of Iraq forbidden to the people with the presence of millions of un exploded landmines. Satellite images indicated that there are more than 35 million mines lay hidden in around oil fields, rural landscapes and even in some populated areas. Once laid, a mine may remain active for up to 50 years. Unless vigorous action is taken, mines placed today will still be killing and maiming people well into the middle of the next century.
These unexploded mines are responsible for daily fatal accidents; it is a major obstacle to the redevelopment of the country
